Independent Lewes cafe Laporte’s to close

Independent Lewes cafe Laporte’s is to close at the end of January 2018.

Independent Lewes cafe Laporte’s is to close after eleven years. Established in 2006 by mother and daughter team Tanya Laporte and Indianna Dabson, the business expanded into its current larger premises at 4 Lansdown Place towards the end of 2010.

The family-run cafe has now posted a message on its Facebook page, telling customers “with a heavy heart” that they’ll be closing on 28th January 2018 due to “severe localised competition”. Until then they’ll be serving coffee, cake and sandwiches every day, with a full kitchen service available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
