Limits of Parental Influence: The Nature and Nurture of Children’s Development Copy

Friday 20 Apr @ 8:00pm - 10:00pm

Alison Pike, Professor of Child & Family Psychology at the University of Sussex, talks about factors that have been shown to affect the development of children.

A Headstrong Club talk.

The original Headstrong Club was formed in the 18th century as a debating society. It met in the White Hart and was notable for counting democracy campaigner Thomas Paine as a member. In fact, Lewes historian Colin Brent notes that Paine often won the prize for “most obstinate haranguer”.

Today’s Headstrong Club was formed in January 1987 by David Powell and John May. It’s now based at the Elephant and Castle pub and generally meets once a month, with a summer break. There’s a charge of £3 for entry to meetings.
