Pells Pool to reopen on Saturday 25th July

The open-air swimming season at Pells Pool in Lewes will start on Saturday 25th July 2020.

The pool’s reopening has been delayed twice this year: due to coronavirus regulations at first, then again when essential equipment for lifeguard training and assessment couldn’t be delivered in time. New lifesaving procedures need to be followed to ensure staff and customers are protected from the risks of contracting COVID-19.

A group of volunteers helped clean and prepare the pool earlier this month. Now, with the equipment available, the pool has confirmed its opening date.

There’s a new weekend opening pattern on trial:
10am – 11am: adult (over-16s) morning swim
11.30am – 1.30pm: family session (including under-16s with adults)
2.30pm – 4.30pm: family session (including under-16s with adults)
5pm – 7pm: lane swimming (over-10s allowed in with adult)

Weekday sessions are:
7am – 8am: adult (over-16s) lane swimming
8am – 9am: adult (over-16s) lane swimming
9am – 10am: adult (over-16s) lane swimming
11am – 1pm: family session (including under-16s with adults)

4pm – 5.30pm: lane swimming (children allowed in with an adult)

Adult prices are £3 for the hour-long session, £4 for the 90 minute sessions, £5 for the two-hour sessions. Children are £2.50 per session.

All tickets must be booked in advance online; full details are on the Pells Pool website.
